Review of Giant (1956) by Steve S — 28 Aug 2007
*** (out of four).
A film much like Texas itself, big and vast, and quite empty.
This George Stevens classic should be complimented on many fine traits. The direcetion and cinematograohy is lawless and it features a fine final perforamnce from James Dean. But overall, the story is sparce and overly soap opera-ish. It is a bit overrated.
