Review of Gia (1998) by Jaimie E — 05 Apr 2009

I simply love this movie. This has to be one of my favorite movies.

I've watched it so many times, I don't get tired of it. I think the only credit it gets is the fact that it has many sexual scenes. However, looking at the movie as a whole, I think, gives it much more credit than what people think it's about.

I love her acting in this movie, as well as the plot itself. I suppose the reason I enjoyed the film so much is because I can feel I can relate to Gia in this movie?.. Yes and no, although I may harbor the same self-conscious, paranoia that she had throughout her life. I don't have her good looks and charm. That's something I really enjoyed about her character, unorthodox way of being, her behavior unpredictable. Her comfortable attitude toward both sexes yet she conveys an independence towards females and seeks companionship for personal fears. Great movie, in my eyes at least :).
