Review of Gia (1998) by Agustin G — 29 Mar 2010
This is a painful portrait of a woman who fell out of control in a business that asked too much and gave her more than what she wanted. Angelina Jolie brings a certain truth to a lost, confused, and broken individual that had it all, but ended with nothing.
If this movie wasn't on HBO, I'm sure she definitely would have gotten a run for the Academy's money for Best Actress. Not only was her acting genuine, but as were the rest of the supporting cast that created the atmosphere of a great bio-pic movie.
Astonishingly poignant and deeply tragic without any dishonesty to stray from the characters, situations, and story.
