Review of Gia (1998) by Oj H — 23 May 2016
It became quite redundant, as most addicts life have a tendancy to also do, but there was not enough conflict. it just went around in a big circle, over and over, and at a certain point, I just wanted it to end already.
I was not a fan of the score put to the movie.
The screenplay lacked.
The camera work was boring, and the quality was just terrible, which also took me out of it.
The acting of Jolie was quite great... but it did not keep me enthralled enough. the filmmaking felt timid, for such an intense lifestyle, that I would love to see a remake.
(even though jolies performance could not be replaced).
I give it just above average due to the lack of conflict, shoddy camera work, and lack luster directing, without style, taking place in the highly stylized fashion world.
C+.
