Review of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009) by Rory R — 01 Oct 2013
G.I. Joe is a fun action flick which stays true to the toy turned comic franchise. It may have got slated for it's inconsistent CGI and at times below par acting, but it was never intended to be realistic or brilliantly acted.
It set out to be an over the top, gadget filled action film filled with fantasy and endless possibilities. If you can look past the it's minor negatives and look at it from a fanboy point of view, then this film succeeds.
It's CGI may not be up to scratch but I think it was intended to look shiny and animated as a way to pay homage to the toys and comic books. The characters are fun and extremely cheesy but that's what makes G.
I. Joe so enjoyable. Sienna Miller, what a babe.
