Review of G.I. Joe: The Movie (1987) by Kurtis M — 24 Mar 2006
Okay where to start. When I was a kid you were either a Transfan or G.I. Joe fan. Although I was the former I'll admit that the toys and the cartoon had their moments. And so did this movie. Yes it's one big ad for the toys last breath of product sales but it's a pretty fun breath to watch.
They take some risks with the story and there many fierce and familiar faces that are fun to keep track of. The story may be beyond weird, the dialogue may be absurd, and they may say "Yo-Joe" way way too many times, but cartoon features like this are more than simple entertainment, they are capsules that capture a moment of time for may of us where a few colorful catchprases and moderately priced action figures were all that mattered.
Yo Joe!
