Review of Ghosts of Mississippi (1996) by Danielle M — 05 Jul 2007
More important then the average courtroom drama, because it helped exposed one of the great injustices and great civil rights leaders of all time. This tells the story of the murder of Medger Evers, and how the man who did the deed was finally found guilty for that crime many years later.
Alec Baldwin obviously isn't a Southerner, but his attempt is admirable. This is also one of his better performances. James Wood is just unsetteling as Byron de la Beckworth, he gets down to the DNA of that character.
Also, maybe Whoopi's finest performance, right there with a Color Purple.
