Review of Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009) by Corey B — 23 Mar 2010
The kind of movie McConaughey can pull off in his sleep. This one only comes to life in a handful of scenes that really capitalize on the premise, otherwise it has trouble finding a nice balance between the fantasy and the reality. The fantasy stuff isn't creative enough (minus one or two scenes), and the reality stuff is quite grating (it's hard to root for anyone whose name doesn't end in Garner).
The script is pretty dull, providing no real surprises, and often feeling like a half-baked version of Scrooged. Can we please retire the Christmas Carol movies?
