Review of Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009) by Bill C — 12 Sep 2010
For Rom-com level logic it starts off really good the middle very good, but the ending is so sickly sweet it offset any good built up so far. Jenifer Garner must be taking acting lessons, because this is her best acting so far.
Matthew McConauhey fans, He actually is dressed most of the movie, bummer for you. The Role I was interested in the most was Michael Douglas as the heartless lothario who teaches McConauhey how to "Pick-up broads".
The story really cuts close to the bone on my memories of bars in the 80-90's. Watching the preternatural dance between bar regulars and how you could spot anyone who was not part and parcel of the game.
Needless to say I was not part of it except the excesses of consumption. If it was not for the ending it could have been better.particularly annoying they never answered, Why does Michael Douglas call him Dutch?
