Nostalgic. Elmer Bernstein musical cues place the audience in 1984. Also has a Goonies + Back to the Future feel for added measure. The ending has big payoff. Multiple references for old fans.
Highly recommended for audiences across multiple generations.
Bring a tissue.
Also, bigtime "Heavy Metal" midnight movie fan here. Harold Ramis, Ivan Reitman and Elmer Bernstein's spirit live on in this film.
