A trio of supernatural scientists (Bill Murray and screenwriters Dan Ackroyd and Harold Ramis) invent an arsenal of spectral combat gear and start a ghostly pest control business. Their ambitions are barred by the EPA, but the Ghostbusters' biggest threat comes from a Sumerian god that's summoned to bring about the End Times.
Ghostbusters really caught lightning in a bottle with its infectious theme song, barrage of outstanding comedic performances, numerous quotable lines, nifty special effects, and wonderful flair for visuals.
This film has been a staple of Western pop culture for decades and its held up quite nicely.
