Hey, you mind if I share a secret with you all? ...I've never seen this film up till now. *GASP* I know. I'm as shocked that I finally got to see this movie when it's been the cult staple of Hollywood and pop-culture for about 30 years now. And now that i've gotten to see this film and learn about how this film came to how be (from, via a documentary for the film: it's good and one hit wonder cast, Dan Ackroyd and Harold Ramis providing the script as also Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson improvising every scene they were in, and almost a impending demise without it's writers, director Ivan Reitman and ESPECIALLY it's cast joining in,) how does it all fair up overall for my taste? Unsurprisingly, it was REALLY great. I can say after watching this, Ghostbusters is definitely understandable in my eyes as this great 80's film that without any of these people, would be forgotten with time as a dated and campy film (ironically compared to the likes of Star Wars.) Now I think because pop culture has already adored and talked about the positives with the film, I won't repeat what's already been said. But still, i'll just quickly mention that the humor is really funny thanks to the improvisation from Bill Murray and it's script from Harold & Dan, the special effects is actually really charming representation of the universe and REEKS of the 80's, the tools and equipment is really memorable and I can see it hold on a pedestal with the likes of a Lightsaber, and is overall a simple fun ride that uses the cast, special effects, and a witty script to a great advantage. Now I did have one or two issues with the film, just wishing it could go more into some of it's characters arks and maybe wishing it could have more times where we could feel for the scientist not being taken too seriously, but i'm just trying to nitpick. Overall I enjoyed the hell out of this film. And while I won't say i'm like a HUMONGOUS fan after watching this, I really do dig what the movie had to offer (honestly making me want to get a Proton Pack) and I can see why it really worked (2 Fun Facts: The team who did this did Spaceballs & Animal House & Ghostbusters came out on the same day as Gremlins did.) Now as for the all female reboot coming out by Paul Feig, i'll just keep my thoughts for that once the film comes out so I can go into FULL DETAIL on what my reaction was to it's announcement and how it held up.

Score: 8.5 / 10.
