Review of Ghost World (2001) by Matthew B — 31 Aug 2008
This movie, based off of an edgy and artsy graphic novel by the same name, is interesting and sublime. However, it kind of failed to display the chaos that was in the graphic novel (especially since they left out the reason that the movie was even called "Ghost World").
It was interesting to see Scarlett Johansson before she was glamorized for Hollywood, and it was fantastic to see Thora Birch (from Hocus Pocus and American Beauty) again on screen...but that still didn't really make up for what this movie lacked overall.
It's an interesting watch, but nothing that I'd run out to see.
