Review of Ghost World (2001) by Jaine H — 07 Jan 2009
This movie has some very funny moments. illeana douglas was hilarious as the art teacher, and steve buscemi gave a nice performance. however, I couldn't get past the two main characters - so tragically hip to the point of being elitist assholes.
I would have liked the movie if there had been some kind of change of heart in birch's character (i.e. a realization of how much of a bitch she had been to everyone). overall, it was occasionally witty and funny, but the characters were too hatable for me to enjoy much else.
