Review of Ghost World (2001) by Eduardo B — 25 Apr 2009
A quirky, funny, and sad film about self-discovery upon entering the real world after high school. This is the case for the uncertain, yet opinionated Enid, who must take an art class for summer, while figuring out what her future holds and who will be a part of that future.
Failure and questions surround this troubled teen, while humoring us with her misadventures and eccentric friends. Based on a graphic novel, the story and some characters vary greatly, so some may be disappointed.
I personally liked this movie more the first time I saw it, but now feel it is inferior to the graphic novel after reading it and watching the movie again. All in all, I liked both, but this is just a case of liking the book more than the movie.
