An offbeat Indie Comedy that refreshingly prefers substance over style.

The quirkiness never feels forced or gimmicky, the characters are very well developed and realistic as the newly graduated teenagers awkwardly transition into adulthood. It establishes a mood of bleak hopelessness, but it's so warm and witty and intelligent and welcoming that it's never really depressing.

Sometimes underrated because of similar movies in its vein, it's much like an Indie Comedy version of THE DESCENT. But cuter.

UPPPPDATE: Yeah, just as good, if not better, than I remember it being. I don't really have anything to add to this except that Thora Birch is so jawdroppingly hot in this that she pretty much steals every single scene she's in. Who would have thought a bland, well-casted Scarlett Johansson would become to be a much bigger superstar than she will ever be?
