Review of Ghost World (2001) by Stefanos T — 10 Feb 2011
I was really surprised by this film. I think it really translated on the screen. Ghost World is a rare teenage film that it's nearly impossible to see these days anymore. It's not too indie or weird or hippie or any kind of lame trend that you can think of.
I love how it conveys themes of alienation through Steve Buschemi's character and the main girl. Steve is really a guy who has a genuine passion about something and because of that he cannot relate to 99.
99% percent of the world. The girl holds similar ideologies about life and I liked how she is contrasted with the characters around her. She is not some blatant weird indie girl but perhaps quaint, original and realists.
This film is proof that comic books are awesome and it's sad that no one reads them anymore.
