Review of Ghost World (2001) by Matt M — 18 Mar 2013
Two teenage best friends deal with high school graduation in different ways; one finds a job and starts looking for an apartment, the other keeps living in her miserable worldview where everything sucks.
Their friendship is especially put to the test after the latter plays a prank on a lonely and sad man and finds herself needing him in ways she did not think possible. Ghost World is an infectious film which mixes dark comedy elements with heavy coming of age drama.
It's quite an entertaining but ultimately sad look at teenage boredom and the struggles of growing up.
