Questo "Ghost World" si muove discretamente tra la commedia e il drammatico. Un po' come in "American Beauty", Thora Birch interpreta una ragazzina annoiata dalla gente comune. Durante le vacanze estive il rapporto con una persona assolutamente fuori dagli schemi l'aiuterà a fare una scelta decisiva.
Steve Buscemi si fa notare come al solito.
