Review of Ghost World (2001) by Brandon O — 27 Oct 2009
Upon seeing it a second time, makes me interested in checking out the comics... if I read comics. Regardless, the script is very witty and smart, and Thora Birch is probably the perfect choice for the character of Enid.
.. she almost seems to be playing the continuation of her 'American Beauty' character, except maybe even MORE sarcastic and cynical. Steve Buscemi also is a great choice for his character - as down and pessimistic as others he's played in the past, but maybe even more sad this time.
Definitely an interesting film that showcases Zwigoff's approach perfectly.
