Review of Ghost Ship (2002) by Kyle L — 06 Jul 2011
Dark Castle pictures has impress me once again with this nasty, haunting ghost flick starring Desmond Harrington and Julianna Margulies in Dark Castle's Ghost Ship. Ghost Ship is the story of a group of Salvage crew workers who finds a giant boat in the see after they met Jack Ferriman for a repair in the boat.
But soon the crew members started getting haunted by a group of evil spirits lurking within the boat and they must escape before they die as well. I instantly began to enjoy Dark Castle's films after the success of Thirteen Ghosts.
So far I began to like this film even better than most of the previous films Dark Castle has released. Ok let's get to the film. Ghost Ship is one of the greatest horror movies ever since Dawn of the Dead (remake).
I really enjoyed this film so far. I saw this movie a long long time ago when I was really young and the opening scene was one of the best kills in horror movie history. I actually like the opening scene so far people getting cut from the bottom by a loose wire is one of the nastiest and goriest kills in horror movie history.
I mean that scene really got me so far when I watch the film. The whole movie was really good the inside of the boat has a really dark atmosphere. The isolation of the boat in a lost sea was incredibly frightening and the tension and suspense is seriously gut wrenching and all of the kills are seriously over the top.
Of course the opening scene was seriously over the top and the flashback scene with all of the people getting slaughtered was also over the top. The ghosts in this movie are scary and creepy at the same time.
What's great about Ghost Ship is that the film will keep you guessing until the twist is revealed in the last part I really enjoyed this film so far. Director Steve Beck is one of the over the top directors since Alexandre Aja and Wes Craven.
Overall Ghost Ship gets a 10/10 because the whole film is gut wrenching, intense, nasty and scary as well.
