Review of Ghost Ship (2002) by Matthew G — 15 Nov 2012

I dislike this movie so much! I hate Ghost Ship, in my opinion it sucks! I felt that the only real highlight of the movie happened during the beginning, where it actually gives a rather genuine scare. I mean holy crap, that was scary and unexpected! Sadly, the rest of the movie doesn't live up to that scene, resulting in a plodding, not scary experience, with bores and gore that simply was not gratuitous.

The main villain is utterly unlikeable, and while I'll give the movie credit for offering a desolate environment in the ship, it's not enough to save this filth with its numerous flaws. The ending infuriates me so much, I can't believe they ended it on such a poorly chosen cliche! While it's not the *worst* movie I've seen, it is *one* of the worst that I ever had to experience.

One time is enough for this viewer. Of course that's just my opinion on the subject. If other people like it, then that's great, good for them. For me it was just poor.
