Review of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011) by James V — 30 Nov 2012
The movie was fun despite everyone hating it because it is the popular thing to do. They kind of gave it the feel you get from the Prophecy movies which at first bugged me that they altered things a bit from the first but I liked the new direction it was going.
My only complaint about the film was making Zarathos a former angel. That part was stupid as shit. However the rest of the movie was fun. The effects were rather good, like having ghost riders jacket boiling because of the heat from the hellfire.
Nick Cage did a great job in the role and made a likable superhero character which is rare since lets face it, most actors they pick for superhero movies are just plain awful. When I went through the cast list for this film I did not recognize any names besides Cage which impresses me since the acting in the film was actually quite good.
If you are a fan of Nick Cages work which is always kind of odd and out there then you will like this film. However this film is not for your average dumber than a bottle of ketchup kind of viewer because they just won't understand the film, like how a lot of people did not understand the Hilarious Vampire's Kiss movie that Cage was in back in the late 80s.
