Review of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011) by Alex M — 02 Feb 2013
The film wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I did think that this sequel was better than the original film. Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor were the right choices to direct the film. Their style fit the Ghost Rider character. The film reminded me of movies like T2, End of Days, Constantine, and the Road Warrior. The story could have been better. I felt like I have seen this type of story before.
Nicolas Cage, I thought had a better grasp of the character here than in the original film. Idris Elba steals the film. I was expecting more from Ciaran Hinds. Peter Fonda, who played the Devil in the original film, did a much better job in the role than Hinds. It was awesome seeing Christopher Lambert in the film. However, they should have casted him in a better role.
I am not sure that a third film will happen.
