Review of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011) by Robert H — 27 Sep 2013
Cartoonish and over-the-top, this unnecessary sequel scrapes the bottom of the barrel by resorting to lowest-common-denominator plot cliches, phoning in what little emotion it has by an overbearing soundtrack, ADD cinematography, low-quality special effects, etc.
I could go on, but suffice it to say that Nicolas Cage is about the only good reason for watching this movie. He brings a weird charm and his brand of crazy to the title role, even if the material he's given isn't much.
However, the movie is full of non-characters whose only purpose is to advance the non-existent plot.
