Review of Ghost Rider (2007) by Monty H — 17 Dec 2012
A pure comic book movie that delivers all that it promises. Nic Cage is Johnny Blaze, daredevil motorcyclist who makes a deal with the devil to save the life of his dad. He is tricked by the devil into becoming his bounty hunter, sent to capture demons who have escaped from hell. This is one awesome looking movie with some very cool special effects the likes you have never seen before. Blaze's first transformation into Ghost Rider is truly a piece of work. The villians GR must deal with include Blackheart, the devil's own son who is making a play to rule Earth and three fallen angels called The Hidden who do his bidding. The love interest is supplied by Eva Mendes who is so very hot looking. And Sam Elliott is cool as an old timer who knows a lot about Ghost Riders. And Cage is actually quite good as Blaze. But the effects are what truly drives this film and like I said they are freakin awesome. None of that CG overkill crap either that a lot of other movies suffer from. A perfect mix of humor, drama and action make this one of the better comic book movies.
Caretaker: "You alright?".
Johnny Blaze: "Yeah, I'm good. I feel like my skull is on fire, but I'm good.".
