Review of Ghost in the Shell (2017) by Scott R — 06 Apr 2018
The real life version of the classic anime film can rely on a pretty neat production design and decent enough effects. The action works too, but it's getting rare at some point throughout the film.
Instead it is trying to raise supposedly philosophical questions about identity and what makes us human. That's neither particularly new nor ground breaking. In the end that makes for a rather mediocre experience that can't entirely satisfy on any level.
