Ghost in the Shell is visually captivating and highly entertaining. Scarlett Johansson gives an amazing performance, although her lead role has been plagued with unnecessary controversy. Having no knowledge of the original material, I couldn't find any fault with the story in the film.
The sci-fi ala Blade Runner magic is there, but the story doesn't get the climactic punch it deserves. Editing could have been better, and the pacing tighter.
