Review of Ghost in the Shell (2017) by Marcmyworks — 30 Mar 2017
The critics have been hard on this film, especially the casting of Scarlett Johansson as the Major. Some of her characterizations were authentic to the original Anime character, but her range as an actress did not always convey this well.
Overall I thought the film was beautifully shot and gorgeously rendered with the CGI. This film really is stylized as the American remake of the 1995 original film, only with the characters being more fleshed out.
The script is not the strongest out there, but it is a good film with potential to trend even more Anime/Manga films made live action.
