Review of Ghost in the Shell (2017) by Georgio — 06 Apr 2017
I don't know what reviewers smoked but I think Ghost in the Shell is probably best Sci-Fi movie of this century closely followed by Mad Max. I read some reviews and I am flabbergasted by level of dishonesty some people express. I will address those bellow:
1) Some anime fans view the movie as sacrilege of their beloved relic or whatever. I don't care.
2) It explores the same theme and brings nothing original. Yeah, because a millionth romantic comedy brings so much of original stuff. 3) It has to few african americans in the cast. Ok, I don't feel a need to address this one.
Ghost in the shell is visually stunning movie. That alone should make it a must see (I saw it in IMAX). The story itself was to me very interesting and it is the best depiction of cyberpunk world I have ever seen. The pacing of the story may seem to be slow, however I really like it as it fits very well with the overall artistic approach. Very well done.
