Review of Ghost in the Shell (2017) by Legendmir — 07 Apr 2017
I enjoy movies. I have watched hundreds. I had a friend at college who was a crazy film buff, would invite me over his house for movie watching sessions, I had a lot of fun. He seemed to get a lot more out of them than me and would know about the cast and directors etc.. which didn't seem important to me.. I just enjoyed the film and moved on.
Ghost in the Shell makes me understand how he must have felt.. this film is a work of art and has meaning. Both because of the creativity of Shirow Masamune and the talent of Rupert Sanders. I have never felt myself more out of touch with the critics.. the criticisms aimed at this film seem to ignore that fact that you cannot have everything in a film.. you have to choose what to keep, what to discard, in order to focus on the elements of the story which have the most meaning and are the most entertaining..
