Review of Ghost in the Shell (2017) by Yag2J — 10 Apr 2017
A new and beautiful take on Mamoru Oshii’s anime adaption. Simply breath-taking at times. However bare in mind this is a new take on the Major but albeit not a bad one. Go in with an open mind and you will enjoy what’s here as there’s a lot to enjoy in this movie. Obviously (and I don’t feel this was done just for the western audience) has been toned down from the original. I feel this was done to ease newcomers into the franchise.
Truly is a shame about negative comments and reviews this is getting. You can tell there was a lot of love gone into recreating this world and truly deserves a chance. Overall don’t let the whitewashing bulls***t sway you. If you’re a fan you’ll enjoy it unless you’re that kinda fan…..
