Review of Ghost in the Shell (2017) by Rusty S — 06 Apr 2017
Visually stuning world creation, with a Bladerunner feel. I would like to see more similar high budget sci-fi, and even more of this franchise. I enjoyed the anime and found the movie supplemented it..
. As one would hope, this movie brought to life a classic anime from 20is years ago and preserved the feel, reproduced and enhanced some classic scenes... For me, nitpicking at how the movie did not stay true to the original series isn't compelling, nor is the criticism that "the major" wasn't portrayed by a Japanese actor.
For me the movie enhanced my enjoyment of the franchise, and Scarlette was perfect. Additionally, I am pleasently suprised that I enjoyed what must have been a lot of green screen and CG. Tastefull done.
I get the feeling that I must be in the narrow demographic niche that this movie was aimed for as other reviews fault it for things I just don't see...
