Review of Ghost in the Shell (2017) by David G — 17 Nov 2017
Though dull in spots and only tapping a couple of the philosophical ideas from the source material; all visual aspects of the film are superb and commendable. Even with a lack of tension from scenes and a genericly main streamed plot, I was still glued to the screen with interest.
It's not a good adaptation mind you, but I would never say it's the worst adaptation out there (trust me!). It certainly deserved more time and editing tricks to help the flow feel less dull while still keeping it atmospheric, but this, however, can be categorized as just above serviceable and to give it a chance.
