Being a fan of the anime and the TV show, I went into the cinema with some expectation of what I would get. Yes, the special effects were there but in some cases great (cyborg designs) and in other cases very poor (.

..almost everything else.) Many scenes featured too much CG that led to seemingly different shot movies melded together. There may have been too much left unexplained during the movie which could leave many confused, and the most intriguing character (the villain) was underused.

The action and Scar-Jo's performance were excellent though, however I left the cinema thinking I would be fine if I never saw that film again...
