Review of Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004) by Tutti D — 13 Jul 2007
When I heard about GitS 2 Innocence years back at an Anime Expo panel I nearly creamed my pants in anticipation. Yet I was worried that the masterpiece of Ghost in the Shell would be tarnished with the release of a sequel thinking it could never be as good as the first.
OMG was I wrong. GitS2 was a perfect sequel to the classic GitS. Batou is really a great lead in this terrifying world where the line between Man and Machine is virtually non-existent. More philosophical rantings diving deeper into the existence of self and a soul take this film to another level.
With stunning visuals this has become a staple in the world of anime raising the standards of production across the board.
