I only sat through this movie once so far but it warrants a second viewing. Basically a continuation of the same story, with Batou trying to discover the whereabouts of The Major, who as we learned in the previous movie, disappeared after her fight with the Ghost hacker.

We get to see her again, though not in a form we recognize because her cybernetic body was destroyed in the battle. So now she's a kid. Weird, huh? The plot of this one is much more complicated and can be confusing at times, but this is balanced out by the sheer beauty of its animation.

Features heavy CGI effects and some memorable scenes really capture the grandeur of modern anime. The music by kenji Kawai tends to get a little monotonous though. Very thought-provoking film at its best and perhaps a little tedious at its worst.

Middle of the road rating for this one.
