Review of Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004) by Julian G — 01 Nov 2010
The philosophy put through this one is a bit forced, but not without reason. A more subtle thriller in comparison to its predecessor, but worthwhile nonetheless. Animation techniques improve in this sequel, using some cgi in combination with old-school 2-d animation, all incredibly well detailed.
Its plot later also becoming a mindtrip later, Innocence still may only be worthwhile for those who are really into the franchise, as it's nowhere near as impacting as the first in its message of computerization, but the themes are built across.
Overall... meh, I like it.
