Review of Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004) by Johnny L — 15 Nov 2013
Like its predecessor, the second film draws from many philosophical sources and presents ponderings about the nature of human experience with scenes that can at times be religious and other times very technological (like people's brains being hacked).
The "twist" reveal (not so much a twist as a solution to the mystery) at the end is pretty good, but I think it could have been presented differently to make it more devastating and creepy. It wasn't as scary as it is in theory.
