Review of Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004) by Nigel L — 28 Sep 2007
I recommend going to watch this film for the visual stimulation alone! worth watching again and again just for that. very dark - which adds a film noir element to the film. the japanese soundtrack contributes to this atmosphere as well. Loved the gold/orange hues in the landscape scenes and plenty of shadows. Was awed by the street festival scene when they land on etorofu.
The film explores moral questions about humans and machines borrowing quotes from famous theologians and philosophers - most of it went over my head. So definately warrants a 2nd (3rd!) viewing.
