Review of Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004) by Hosea Aryo Bimo Widiotomo N — 02 Aug 2010
If you want to see this movie, I think you better know the philosophy inside and beneath The Ghost in The Shell Series. first of all, you have to read the manga, then you have to see The Stand Alone Complex Series [specially The Laughing Man Cases]....and go on to The Solid State Society. After that then you have to see The Original Ghost in The Shell Movie, then read After a Long Goodbye [a Novel about Batou & his dog].....after all of the above, the you can proceed to see Innocence....but I still recommend you to see it over and over because the philosophy were quite deep, heavy & hard to be seen....
Innocence itself were full of symbol & Philosophy so if you were looking for some action, I believe this movie is not for you.
