Review of Ghost in the Shell (1995) by Alexandros T — 08 Jun 2014
The plot centers on cyborg counter-terrorist Maj. Motoko Kusanagi is investigating, with the help of partner and friend Batou, to hunt down a terrorist known as the Puppet Master, while questioning her existance.
If you like The Matrix, you might enjoy this movie. Mamoru Oshii's anime cyberpunk classic is very well thought out with your favorite characters from the series (If you read the original manga or seen either Stand Alone Complex or Arise), a memorable soundtrack done by Kenji Kawai, impressive screenplay in both dubs (English and Japanese), well-executed sewuences, and keeps you thinking the entire movie. This is one of the best and most creative anime films made. If you liked cyberpunk films in general, your satisfaction will be met with this film. As it is (In my opinion) one of the best cyberpunk films since Blade Runner. You gotta watch it.
Only question left is, why didn't this film got an Oscar Nomination?
