Review of Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999) by Jon S — 30 Aug 2008
Dark and brooding, but with just enough moments of comic relief to keep you gripped all the way through.
Some of the shoot-out sequences build upon a very simple visual style to great effect and Whitaker fits the role of the quiet hit-man perfectly, providing an excellent juxtaposition between different cultures.
This really is a hidden gem of a film if you can track it down.
