Review of Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999) by Tony M — 26 Jan 2009
I was apprehensive about this movie. Perhaps, it's because prior to this I thought Forrest Whitaker was more likely to clean out the entire bakery aisle of a Savemart than a room full of very bad men.
But my worries were misguided, as this has the Jarmusch trademarks, slow-burning, reflective moments that casually erupt into great scenes of violence. It features strong soundtrack work too, courtesy of RZA.
