Review of Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999) by Jonny S — 23 Nov 2009
Jim Jarmusch can do no wrong. He could even claim to be "bigger than Jesus" and I would pause to scratch my chin and think "yeah.... maybe he is".
Ghost Dog could be accused of being that one about "the hip-hop samurai dude", but that would be a mistake.
It's a well-executed film that successfully blends elements from mafia / crime movies, samurai movies and has a fantastic soundtrack by The Rza.
