Review of Getting Even with Dad (1994) by Matthew M — 22 Dec 2009
I have heard or seen most of the Macaulay Culkin films but for some reason this one went under the radar. I decided to check it out. I had no expectations except I wondered why this is not as popular as his other films.
Well, I don't know it felt very slow and I could not get into the picture at all. It was too adult to be a kids movie and too stupid to be funny. It is unbelievable that his father is a criminal that can pull off a robbery but then lose it to an 11 year old.
I get the idea but I wish it was funnier and less serious. It also makes you really hate the father because he never wants the kid around. I mean its depressing. Overall, I'd watch any of his other films well maybe not pagemaster but anyway.
This just was not as memorable as his other films.
