Review of Gettin' Square (2003) by Ned S — 16 Sep 2009
A really enjoyable Australian crime/comedy. It's not particularly original but makes up for this with plenty of fun characters and situations. David Wenham is a delight as a junkie who just can't 'get square' and whilst certain scenes of his shouldn't be funny (were they in reality), his courtroom scenes in particular are totally hilarious.
Timothy Spall can make any film quality and so his supporting role in this is welcomed. The star of the show however is Sam Worthington, proving even back then that his burgeoning career isn't just a Hollywood fluke.
