Review of Gett: The Trial of Viviane Amsalem (2014) by Diego U — 23 Dec 2017
The Israeli foreign language feature, 'Gett: The Trial of Viviane Amsalem' manages to enthrall, despite mostly being shot in a courtroom using only a few camera angles. It's a marvelous conclusion to a trilogy, but you don't have to watch the first two to enjoy this.
The actors are mostly one-note, except for Ronit Elkabetz (Viviane) who barely talks until the final act. She co-directed and wrote this with her brother and she gets her character who is seeking a divorce from her husband, It doesn't sound like much until you watch it.
Final Score: 8.5/10.
