Review of Getaway (2013) by Abdul A — 28 Aug 2013

This gets one star because of the cool car scenes. This junk was so full of plotholes and bad acting. Ethan was believable however Selena was just plain annoying for the first part of the movie then later bearable. No real thought was put into this. Continuity was just awful.

1. He clearly starts with an IPhone in the beginning left by Jon Voights character but then when he gets out of the car he has a completely different phone that is very cheap looking.

2. The car had way too much stuff in it that was really not explained. There was an XBox controller in the driver door.

3. They blew up the power plant that they said was for the whole city, saw the power go out in the city but then when they started running from the cops again the whole city still has lights.

4. The car lost a side mirror in front of the camera because of a tight spot the car just came out of and then in the next shot it reappears.

5. She somehow hacks into Jon Voights camera system that was installed in the car to survey their driving with her IPad and then loops a video of them sitting still to throw him off. How? Plus he can hear everything they are saying because of the microphone but couldn't hear her devise a plan to fool him in this case or the next.

6. The last chase scene was so long and drawn out for cool effects but was still just dumb because Ethan was in a Shelby Mustang but couldnt catch up to a stock van though he was always 15 feet away from the bumper.

The last thing wrong with this is that the whole thing was devised by Jon Voight who turned out to be a fan who put him through all of that just because he wanted Ethan to regain his confidence as a driver and also gets away with the money they helped him steal. End of story. Gahbage!!!
