Review of Getaway (2013) by Letizia M — 29 Aug 2013
If you're in the mood for an in-depth, character-driven, morally-beautiful story, you should consider a different movie.
That being said, Getaway is exactly what it set out to be -- an action flick with great car scenes and a main character that grows on you. The storyline is solid and the acting is surprisingly good. You won't be able to fault this movie there.
It's not a special movie you're going to remember for the rest of your life, but if you're an action fan, or a fan of the actors, or of Mustang Shelby Cobras, this movie is still definitely worth your time. In the end, my only complaint about this movie is that it was too short. I would go see it again at full ticket price.
(and to answer the suspicions, YES. Selena Gomez's character is actually important to the story. I had my doubts as well, but no, she wasn't added just for star power).
